How Does the ProcureTech Cup Work?

The objective of the event is simple:

I want digitally-minded procurement professionals to learn about what your company has to offer in a playful, relaxed setting conducive to learning and networking. Ideally, this translates to new leads and sales of your solutions.

Inspired by the NCAA collegiate basketball tournament held in the US every year, 64 procurement technology solution providers face off in a thrilling bracket-style tournament.

Over a 2 week period, all solution providers partake in daily 1-on-1 voting rounds on LinkedIn, open to anyone and everyone.

Solutions with the most votes advance in the tournament hoping to win 6 consecutive rounds to become the ProcureTech Cup champions.

If you win, you get bragging rights for a year and a ridiculously large trophy sent to your head office. That, and A TON of exposure to potential customers, employees and partners.

Here’s how things shook up in March 2024

Last year, some crazy stuff happened…

I also received a ton of inbound leads from people wanting to learn more about the solutions involved in the tournament.

Looking Ahead

To make the 2025 event even better, we will be:

  • Running weekly demos highlighting participating companies from September 2024 to March 2025 in the lead up to the tournament.

    • Demos will then also be leveraged to help participants vote for their favorite solution. This was the most requested feature from procurement professionals who voted in the tournament last year.

  • Implementing a “score multiplier” based on company size to level out the playing field (as lots of employees voted for their own company last year, naturally…)

  • Formally documenting the rules on a tournament website.

Important Note: More than 100 ProcureTech brands have expressed interest in participating in the 2025 ProcureTech Cup yet there are only 64 spots…

Make sure to follow communications in coming weeks if you want to participate :)

Registration will open the week of August 12th

Joël
